JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Research, the Research Administration Manager helps lead the

daily operations of Rady Children's Research Administration department. The Manager works with the Director in the administration and financial oversight of the research department. The Manager supervises the grants and contracts team guiding the submission of research applications including; budgeting, reviewing fund statements, resolving accounting problems/errors. Supervises the research grants and contracts staff in the performance of their daily duties and able to perform their duties when required. Maintains timely coordination & communication with involved parties regarding grants management issues. Ensures that grant submission, implementation, & reporting comply with all policies of the Hospital, granting institutions & subcontracting agencies. Functions as resource person in clarification of policies. Functions as the contracting liaison to federal & non- federal

grantor agencies & subcontracting institutions. Operationally responsible for the entire Research Administration team including Grants and Contracts and Informatics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree

5 Years of Experience

Knowledge of grant and contract management and accounting principles and regulations.

Experience with federal, state and local Requests for Proposals, including the ability to understand complex and/or detailed proposal requirements, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Experience with the legislative grant process, including interpretation of regulations, documentation and interfacing with state and federal officials

Strong organizational skills and the ability to establish priorities, manage multiple demands

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must be able to effectively manage personnel

Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree

7 Years of Experience

The expected hiring range for this position is $48.03 to $66.05
