Job Description

The primary job function of this position is to act as the Manufacturing Engineer, working with little or no supervision, applies project management knowledge, engineering knowledge and ingenuity to complete medium size projects from concept thru project closure within or across disciplines.

• Shares responsibility for the design, construction, and/or maintenance of the physical facilities, equipment, processes, control systems, or utilities.
• Coordinates technical projects and engineering processes to support manufacturing operations and customer service goals, while maintaining strict compliance to FDA regulations.
• Performs economic analysis and feasibility studies for the installation of new equipment and/or modification and revision of existing equipment and facilities.
• Investigates, develops, and recommends alternatives for design, procurement, and installation of new equipment or systems for the optimal utilization and control of resources.
• Assists in the design of process equipment or systems for optimum performance.
• Compiles and evaluates design and test data, prepares technical specifications, and determines appropriate limits and variables for product, process, or materials specifications.
• Conducts qualification and validation studies for manufacturing processes, equipment, utilities, and cleaning validation.
• Provides support/assistance to other functions, including quality assurance, on a project or as-needed basis.
• Provides reliability engineering expertise in support of reliability-centered maintenance program(s) at the site. In this capacity, supports the following activities: asset performance monitoring, root cause analysis of equipment failure, development of solutions to repetitive failures, calculation of metrics related to reliability of equipment, etc.
• Attends all required training and complies with all responsibilities associated with the Process Engineer position, as detailed in Standard Operating Procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned. Develops RCEs for engineering projects and maintains the project's budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or scientific discipline.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge and ability to solve related issues and provide effective solutions that support overall engineering/operational objectives.
• Prior operations experience in a GMP regulated environment desirable.
• Ability to balance priorities and/or resources to ensure immediate demands are achieved without sacrificing long-term operational strategies.
• Ability to write policies, procedures, and communications to regulators and management.
• Ability to conduct effective training as necessary for the operation of facilities/equipment.
• Uses standard office program m(Microsoft) for daily communications and project work.
• Has experience with or is willing to learn programming of PLCs (Modicon) and DCS (Emerson Delta V System)

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
