Position Summary

Working independently or with limited supervision, installs, maintains, modifies, and repairs complicated machinery, equipment, and physical structures in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

1. Perform all necessary maintenance and repairs in assembly department including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, PLC, LabVIEW and pneumatic repairs on all equipment. Responsible for completing preventive maintenance on production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

2. Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machine.

3. Remove defective parts by disassembling devices using hand and power tools, while examining form and texture of parts.

4. Assist in the installation of new machinery, fixtures, and necessary hookups.

5. May install and repair electrical apparatus such as power supplies, wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.

6. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Use safe working practices and always report/repair any hazardous conditions.

7. Train and/or assist with training new and existing employees.

8. Perform other duties, including assignments to higher or lower classification jobs as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED

• Manufacturing Maintenance Experience preferred

• Possess a two (2) year technical degree/diploma in a mechanical or electrical field

o Mechatronics or similar degree preferred

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, specifications, and documentation

• Ability to communicate with other departments and vendors to solve process and operational problems.

• Strong track record of ensuring compliance with applicable safety and operational guidelines, policies, and procedures.

• Basic computer skills.

• Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment failure and problems.
