The Role
Tesla Manufacturing Engineering has the important role of designing "The Machine that builds the Machine". We work with the cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Production, Sustaining, and Supply Chain) throughout the entire lifecycle of a product (from initial design through prototype development and into full production) to develop high quality and efficient manufacturing equipment and processes that will produce the power electronics that drive our cars and energy products. The role of the manufacturing technician is to support the larger team in producing world-class products and production lines.The ideal candidate takes pride in their hands-on work, analytical ability, organizational skills and attention to detail. Responsibilities
Assist in developing and refining manufacturing process with Manufacturing Engineers Validate production equipment Participate in manufacturing trials by preparing coupon-level samples Collect data using metrology Supervise automated electrical and mechanical test equipment Roll out process changes to production equipment Respond to advanced maintenance issues Interact daily with Manufacturing Engineers to communicate results and receive tasks Assist with root cause analysis Assist Manufacturing Engineers with ensuring equipment and processes meet production capacity targets and outputs
Requirements
Associate Degree in a technical topic, proof of exceptional skills in related fields with practical technical experience, or equivalent 5+ years pertinent experience Experience in a factory organization Experience with mechanical-electrical/mechatronic systems Knowledgeable about production quality metrics Able to converse technically with Engineers Exemplary written communication and technical report writing skills Experience with manual machining and other fabrication processes Well organized with meticulous attention to detail Mastery of Word and Excel

Expected Compensation
$24.40 - $65.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
