Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Manufacturing Project Manager for a long-term role with a plastics manufacturing company located in Tigard, OR. The Project Manager works closely with the manufacturing team to schedule and allocate resources to customer orders. They track, manage and communicate progress on all projects. This role is responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction.
PAY: $65,000-$75,000/year
Project Manager Responsibilities:
• Receive the request for quote from Sales or directly from customer.
• Coordinate with all involved departments to determine gates to successful project completion, i.e. verification of long-lead purchase parts, material availability, BOM and router accuracy, manufacturing resources required, delivery schedules
• Follow bid review guidelines, provide timely customer quotations through accurate routing and materials estimations
• Obtain customer approval on all drawings prior to processing PO
• Receive and process customer purchase orders, ensuring PO accurately reflects price, delivery, terms, and shipping method
• With the assistance of the PM Group Manager, conduct contract and terms negotiations as required prior to PO acceptance
• Provide single point-of-contact for customer regarding all aspects of their manufacturing order
• Work directly with customer regarding changes to the project scope and assessment of possible constraints
• Provided rapid response to daily/ weekly shortage reports as required by customer
• Coordinate interaction between departments in the areas of procurement, production, documentation, inspection, and shipping.
• With the assistance of the PM Group Manager, capture cost of deviations and determine project impacts including cost, delivery date, and conformance to customer expectations
• Obtain written customer authorization to deviate from customer requirements
• Communicate changes or deviations in scope to internal departments.
• Conduct post-project analysis or post-mortem to capture actual vs. quoted costs
• Facilitate the resolution of any technical, manufacturing and / or quality issues
• Assist Quality Assurance Manager in the initiation and completion of all customer returns, non-conformance reports, and internal Return Materials Authorization (RMA) process
• With the assistance of a Manufacturing Engineer, identify and correct drawing redlines and part notes
• Conduct BOM Scrubbing and BOM Creation, including BOM checklists, using customer provided documents
• Responsible for initiation of First Article Inspection Reports as required by customer
• Assist the Project Management Team Leader with the implementation of LEAN Manufacturing procedures
• Provide small volume purchasing capability to minimize overhead utilization
• Provide construction sketches for simple manufacturing projects
Project Manager Qualifications:
• Associates Degree in a technical discipline (or four years equivalent experience)
• Minimum two years Project Management or Customer Service background
• Familiarity with Bill of Materials (BOM) structure and CAD drawings preferred
• Skilled communicator, both orally and written, in use of word processing, spread sheets, presentations, data base management software and manufacturing systems programs such as MRP, MRPII and ERP.
• Must be skilled in the use of Windows-based PC
