Our Location

Energy Trust provides a range of work location options, including remote, hybrid and in-office work. This position will represent Energy Trust in public settings and potentially at community events. We are open to candidates who live throughout Oregon and Washington. The Project Manager - Residential would be expected to report to the office on a quarterly basis, at minimum.

What We're Looking For:

The Project Manager - Residential will bring proven project management skills to support the development and delivery of an array of innovative programs and initiatives within the Residential sector. This role will support the sector's efforts to integrate new program designs and funding sources, expand program participation across key residential customer groups, develop new savings opportunities, and increase the scale of our program offerings.

The specific areas this role will support include managing the development of the sector's multiyear business plan, support oversight of key implementation contracts for program delivery, and assume the project management responsibilities for key program initiative implementation. This work will be performed in coordination with, and in support of, cross-functional Program Managers and the Residential Sector Lead.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop and oversee project implementation activities, including monitoring contract performance of Program Management Contractors (PMCs).
  • Support internal Program Managers in implementing a suite of program initiatives intended to deliver energy savings benefits across a variety of customer segments and support research designed to test new ways to save energy in homes. Maintain an initiatives matrix clarifying accountability and roles of PMC and Energy Trust staff across the program areas
  • Support project coordination across internal Energy Trust teams including Residential, Renewables, Program Marketing, and other cross-functional support groups.
  • Provide project coordination services across external stakeholders including utilities, community organizations and trade allies.
  • Manage a deliverable tracking tool to support contractor project monitoring efforts.
  • Coordinate all aspects of project implementation, applying best practices for project management and quality assurance, and ensuring efforts meet internal and external financial, audit, evaluation, and public communication requirements.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from contractors and customers, providing technical assistance, problem solving and positive resolutions.
  • Represent Energy Trust's program offerings and initiatives in public settings with customers, contractors, and stakeholder audiences.
  • Communicate results, identify areas of improvement and get buy-in for changes.
  • Develop and apply systems for tracking progress and results.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of project information.
  • Other special projects and duties, as required.
  • Perform all job functions in a safe manner.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibilities but may direct the work of external and agency contractors.

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree (engineering, science, economics, finance, business, or environmental science preferred) - or equivalent experience - preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years' professional experience in business and/or program administration or customer service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and other database applications.
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Ability to learn new proprietary systems
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a supportive, contributing team member.
  • Experience working on multiple, concurrent team-based initiatives.
  • A working understanding of energy project development, program delivery or the ability to translate skills to such.
  • Professional, concise written and verbal communication skills. Maintain proactive and effective communication with leadership in all projects as assigned.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to prioritize multiple time-sensitive tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Customer service skills and experience. Must be able to interact with a diverse workforce and be comfortable working in culturally diverse settings and groups.
  • Public speaking experience required.
  • Ability to direct and work alongside contractors.
