Job Description

Under the direction of the Marketing & Communications Director, the Marketing Coordinator will help perform a variety of specialized tasks to provide support to the marketing efforts of the YMCA of Virginia’s Blue Ridge.

Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, Canva, and Google Analytics
• Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space
• Strong writing skills are required and sample must be provided if selected for in-person interviews.
• Advanced videography and editing skills
• Previous experience in marketing or communications is required
• An effective communicator, in all forms.
• Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadline

Essential Functions

• Provides graphic design support for flyers, posters, program guides, social media and other related content. This includes training staff members and ensuring that all marketing materials are brand-compliant.

• Maintains and manages all social media platforms under the YMCA VBR umbrella. This includes creating content, scheduling posts across branches, maintaining a content calendar, providing feedback and assistance with branch social media posts, providing customer service, engaging followers, reporting and analytics.

• Utilize strong writing skills to create copy for various mediums.

• Coordinates and schedules email content (monthly newsletters, email campaigns, etc.)

• Leads videography initiatives, including editing.

• Provides support in updating, proofreading, fact-checking and editing website copy.

• Assists Development team with fundraising efforts.

• Helps develop marketing campaigns and strategies across branches.

• Maintains a relationship with promotional vendors.

• Assists in ensuring all branches are up-to-date with brand compliant information, signage, etc.

• Establishes and maintains a positive relationship with local media.

• Other duties as assigned.
