The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD ("The HARRIS CENTER") is looking for a Master Level Clinician to join our team!

Are you passionate about providing mental health support to disaster survivors? Join our team as a CCP Master Level Clinician, where you'll conduct both in-person and virtual crisis counseling sessions and group activities. Under the clinical supervision of an LPHA, you'll travel to various locations to deliver vital services.

Your Role in Action:
  • Crisis Intervention: Deliver crisis intervention to individuals to reduce symptoms and prevent the need for more restrictive environments.
  • Training: Provide training on mental illness, medication importance, and related information using TIMA curricula and other designated trainings.
  • Skills Training: Offer skills training services to address severe and persistent mental illness, helping individuals improve their daily functioning.
  • Care Coordination: Assist consumers in accessing necessary care and services based on their individual needs.
  • Treatment Authorization: Review and authorize treatment/services based on medical necessity, ensuring compliance with agency and regulatory guidelines.
  • Documentation: Ensure all services meet eligibility criteria and are properly documented in accordance with Center policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ethical Conduct: Demonstrate ethical behavior in all clinical and professional activities.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for consumers to ensure their needs are met within The Harris Center system and the broader community.
  • Cultural Competence: Communicate effectively with consumers, visitors, and staff, demonstrating knowledge of cultural diversities.
  • Reporting and Training: Complete reporting and training requirements accurately and timely.


What qualifications you will need:

Education:
  • Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Intern licensure with current clinical supervision.


Experience:
  • Minimum 6 months of clinical experience.


Required Knowledge, Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong diagnostic skills with knowledge of diagnostic criteria and guidelines for formulating diagnoses.
  • Proficiency in cognitive behavioral therapy, focusing on reducing or eliminating severe and persistent mental illness (if applicable).
  • Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Clear, concise, and well-constructed written documentation.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with standard word processing software.


Additional Requirements:

Must possess a valid driver's license, reliable insurance, and a personal vehicle suitable for fieldwork, as the position involves significant travel and field-based activities.

  • The requires travel up to 80% of the time.
  • Important Notice: This position is funded through a specific grant and is subject to the availability of these funds. The employment term is tied to the duration of the grant, which is expected to be one year.
