PURPOSE /OBJECTIVE

The Material Handler position is responsible for efficiently handling materials coming from Manufacturing and outside Suppliers that is being processed into our Assembly Plants and being sent to our customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Have Journeyman Material Handling Experience
• Be proficient and knowledgeable about safely operating the Powered Industrial Trucks.
• Complete a daily safety/maintenance checklist on the material handling equipment at the beginning of each shift.
• Ensure all safety equipment and devices are in place and working properly before you operate the equipment.
• Must know at all times what the material is that is being carried and associated job number.
• Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Safely operate all material handling equipment within the plant to prevent damage or personal injury.
• Complete any required production reporting in either manual or electronic formats.
• Unload inbound trucks, warehouse materials, supply production lines, and load outbound shipments.
• Utilize safety precautions and guidelines to ensure each trailer is safe to load/unload.
• Properly unitize and mark materials.
• Stage work appropriately for incoming shifts.
• Assist in other areas as needed to maintain a team approach.
• Responsible for lockout /tag out of all trucks before loading or unloading.
• Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Overtime is required.
• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED minimum - Excellent computer operations skills needed.

Up to 3 years minimum experience Material Handling.
