Position Summary:

Level One: Level one material handlers are usually forklift certified and may be required to lift up to 50 lbs. Forklift duties may include loading/unloading semi-trucks, stocking raw materials, moving material to and from machines/operations. Other duties include picking and kitting materials and supporting inventory audits. Level one may also be responsible for handling the transport of revert, i.e. chips and drops. In order to maintain inventory and traceability, material lot information and transaction accuracy in the relevant MRP system, basic computer skills and knowledge of inventory processes may be required. Typically, 0-1 years of experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
  • Responsible for weighing jobs at certain times during certain points in the manufacturing process to help maintain an accurate parts count for each job.
  • Note count on travelers with date and dock stamps before moving job to the next department.
  • Verify that pan tags match every shop traveler that comes to the dock.
  • Scan jobs into the tracking system to department 64.
  • Place scale count jobs going to outside vendors in holding area designated for jobs to go outside and bring traveler to outside processing personnel for a PO (Purchase Orders) to be issued.
  • Help travelers alphabetically on the dock after vendor has signed for parts.
  • When parts come back, a scale count needs to be performed again to ensure that all parts have been returned. Appropriate inspection personnel inspect the parts and record quantity out of the department and scans traveler out of the department.
  • Make pallets and unload trucks.

Required Skills:
  • The ability to read and write English.
  • An introductory competence in shop math such as working with fractions and decimals.
  • Must have a valid California driver license and acceptable DMV record.
  • Must be familiar with the city of Gardena and the surrounding area.
  • Must receive license to operate a fork-lift within thirty days of acquiring position.
  • Must be able to drive a stake bed truck.
  • Must be able to lift 20-25 pounds
  • Must be flexible to perform a variety of tasks at supervisor's direction.
  • The ability to understand standard procedures.
  • The ability to interpret technical test requirements from customer blueprints and procurement specifications.

Required Experience:
  • 0-1 years of experience.

Level of Education:
  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.

For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter .
