Responsibilities

Quality:
  • Active participiation in Neonatal or Maternal QAPI programs. Assists with data collection,submission of regulatory meausures, tracking & reporting of statistics.
  • Works to establish written guidelines or protocols for prevention, early identification, early diagnosis, and therapy for various conditions.
  • Critically appraises and researches data. Periodic review and revision for Policy & Procedures.

Leadership:
  • Serves as the Program Manager/Coordinator for Neonatal or Maternal Levels of Care Designation.
  • Provides leadership and vision for the program. Monitors the provision of the patient care service from admission, stabilization, operative interventions (if applicable), through discharge, inclusive of quality assessment and proformance improvement (QAPI) program.
  • Manages the day to day activities of the program to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintains detailed documentation of program activities as specified in Level of Care rules and ensures all criteria are met.
  • Contributes to strategic planning, leads and directs achievement in the provision of quality care to the identified population.
  • Maintains professional communication with all members of the multidisciplinary team.

Data Collection & Program Compliance:
  • Critically appraises data and implements findings in patient care decisions.
  • Ensures perinatal data integrity through clinical review and verification of the electronic health record.
  • Develop and maintain a written plan of the program that includes detailed description of the scope of service available to the population.
  • Works with manager and staff for Level of Care readiness.

Outreach:
  • Active participation in local, state, and regional organizations. Provides and participates in outreach to surrounding communities as needed/requested that contribute to BSA's mission.
  • Attends area RAC meetings.
  • Provides follow up within the community.
  • Acts as a liason for EMS agencies.
  • Represents the Women, Infant, & Children's division at hospitalwide councils.

Education:
  • Collaborates with the Neonatal/Maternal Medical Director, Transport Medical Director, and Department Director.
  • Participates in regular meetings with unit manager for the department.
  • Serves as a resource to staff as a subject matter expert. Identifies areas for nursing research, implementation of current evidence based practice changes, assist in development of ongling and annual competencies as well as unit
  • based drills.
  • Active participant in professional organizations and maintains professional certifications
  • required for the job role.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:
  • RN: Bachelor of Science Nursing
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • ACLS (Labor & Delivery -only)

Preferred Job Requirements:
  • Master of Science Nursing
  • 5 years' in clinical Speciality
  • 2 years Leadership
