Insight Global is seeking a mechanical design engineer to join the team of an Oil and Gas client in the northeast Houston area. This person's role will involve designing and conducting qualification tests for new downhole completion tools for oil and gas wells, tailored to meet customer needs. This also includes maintaining current designs. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, capable of thriving in a fast-paced setting, and will be tasked with the following: Drafting and scrutinizing engineering documents for both prototyping and production; assisting the Design Engineering Group during equipment prototype testing; offering technical assistance for manufacturing and operations; and diagnosing and rectifying issues with equipment or processes. The ideal candidate must be comfortable going onsite 5 days a week on a 9/80 schedule.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering
2+ years of "hands on" design experience of Product Development of downhole oil and gas tools
Minimum of 2 years' experience working with API and ISO specifications (API 11D1, API 19V, API 19ICV, API 19AC, etc.)
Experience in design 3D modeling skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks
