The Mechanical Engineer must be a highly motivated, hands-on, and self-driven team player that can perform in a dynamic engineering environment. The preferred candidate will have a broad technical knowledge base of mechanical engineering concepts to support the development and design of all facets of simulation training devices.

We believe people should love what they do - in this role, you will be responsible for:
- Researching, designing, evaluating, installing, operating, and maintaining electro-mechanical products, systems, and processes to support new and existing simulation training devices.
- Designing new component parts, assemblies, and production drawings using 3D CAD software.
- Altering and/or modifying existing designs to achieve specified functional and operational performance.
- Reviewing and evaluating existing mechanical design drawings and specifications.
- Overseeing installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of designs to ensure that equipment and systems are installed and functioning according to specifications.
- Creating and presenting design and engineering descriptive data for internal and customer design reviews.
- Researching and analyzing data, such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design modifications or new system applications.
- Writing performance requirements for product development or engineering projects.
- Keeping current on future technologies and products to determine where and how such products can be incorporated into designs.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of mechanical engineering or related technical experience required.
- Experience in design engineering techniques, tools, and principals in production of 3D CAD parts, assembly models and 2D drawing packages.
- 3D CAD software experience to include one or more of the following: Solidworks, AutoCad/Inventor, or NX.
- Experience in designing for Manufacturing best practices including material selection, production processes, quality control and material costs.
- High degree of mechanical aptitude with ability to understand complex machinery from a theoretical and practical standpoint.
- Experience in welding, machining, sheet metal, composite, 3D printing, fastening and manufacturing/fabrication processes a plus.
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, learn new tasks/handle multiple tasks, solve problems, meet deadlines, and show strong self-motivation and initiative.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary engineering team.
- U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain a U.S. secret clearance is a must.
