Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant I maintains department patient care supplies, ensures timely flow of patients, and assists physicians and nurses to provide optimal care to patients and families.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma/Equivalent
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Basic Life Support (BLS). Successful completion of medical terminology course within six (6) months of start date in position.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1 year M.A. experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Capacity to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures. Demonstrates compassion and caring in dealing with others.

Essential Functions:
- Perform a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.
- Responsible for supporting the team and providing optimal care to patients and families.
- Assists in maintaining efficient clinic work flows/throughput on a daily basis.
- Maintains patient care environment and supplies to ensure patient privacy and safety.
- Opening/closing clinic daily
- Updating huddle board
- Rooming patients (Height, Weight, BP, Resp. Rate, 02 saturation, Pulse, ESAS screening form, Medication Review)
- De-rooming patients
- Scheduling follow up visits
- Ceaning exam rooms
- Ordering/stocking of patient care supplies-Maintain Expiration Log of supplies
- Participation in department audits
- Assist staff with forms, letters, incoming/outgoing mail/fax/forms/letters
