JOB SUMMARY

The Medical Billing - Claim Prep and File - Government Billing Representative prepares a patient account for claim filing by doing initial review and prep (signature validation, payor requirements) and moves the account for any additional steps needed to file a claim with the insurance company.

HOURS/WORK SCHEDULE:

• During training, M-F 8AM-5PM.

• After release from training, Flex hours M-F 7AM-7PM

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

• Provide Excellent Customer Service

• Manage claim filing

• Work to achieve team and departmental goals

• Work effectively as a member of a team

• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Experience

• Minimum of one (1) year in medical billing office

• Ability to work Independently or as an active member of a team

• Knowledge and experience of computers and related technology, at an intermediate level

• Customer focus and adaptability to different personality types

• Must possess empathetic and professional written and verbal communication skills

• Proficient in Word, Excel, Office 365

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent

Skills:

• Ability to define and identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

• Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information

• Ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively
