Medical Device Design/ Quality Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Medical Device Design/ Quality Engineer for a 24-month hybrid contract position with a client located in Jacksonville, FL. You will be responsible for the design, development, and processing of implants and instruments under the direction of a project leader or manager. Good communication, teamwork and organizational skills are essential. An understanding of human physiology and joint mechanics is required.

Pay/Salary Range: $41.80 per hour

Medical Device Design/ Quality Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Designing for manufacturability, inspectibility, and optimum cost

• Generating prototype models to evaluate new design concepts

• Coordinating product evaluation with surgeons

• Generating comprehensive protocols for testing/analyzing the product

• Generating design assurance documentation for the project

• Would be supporting DHF remediation, Risk management remediation, design transfer activities, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• B.S. degree from an ABET accredited school (or global equivalent) in an engineering or science discipline, as preferred by the specific department and 0 to 3 years of experience. Preference would be for someone with strong design quality background

• Local candidates preferred because of the hybrid nature of the position.

• Familiarity with drafting standards and geometric differences and tolerancing

• Active participation in development meetings with surgeons and key Company personnel

• Ability to effectively work within a team to expedite completion of critical project tasks with other functional groups

• Helping to identify customer requirements for a new product

• Establishing a process method which meets performance and quality requirements

• Microsoft Office Suite and Project , CAD software
