Description

Job Summary:

  • Performs moderate to high complex testing and waived testing procedures and reports test results.
  • Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Performs quality control testing.
  • Maintains supplies needed for performance of tests.
  • Performs phlebotomy procedures and drug screen collections according to policy and procedure.
  • Accurately registers client samples, results with comments, orders tests, cancels and adds tests as required.
  • Handle with Care participation annually or CPI participation every 2 years.


Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree Program in Laboratory (May be grandfathered in with Certification or Diploma)
  • TN MLT license preferred but not required
  • ASCP (MLT) Certification preferred
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of employment.
  • Six months to one year experience in a Laboratory.
