Student Radiology Tech STRHS-Lawrenceburg
Job Summary
Performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice under the supervision of a Radiological Technologist.
Reports to: Director of Imaging Services.
FLSA: Non-exempt
Essential Functions
Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
Nonessential Functions
• Perform other duties as assigned.• Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.• Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS.• Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when neccessary.• Accepts all call schedule as directed.• Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.
Organizational Expectations
• Compliance to the STRHS - Lawrenceburg Standards of Performance is required.• Compliance to Dress Code Standards• Should this job description be filled by a PRN employee, they will be subject to the requirements of that position.

Minimum EducationProgresses through radiologic technologist program as scheduled:• Preferred X RequiredReports evidence of mandatory continuing education to Supervisor on a routine basis:• Preferred X Required
Currently pursuing ARRT Licensure:• Preferred X Required
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:X Basic Life Support (BLS)*employee has 30 days from hire date to obtain this certification
