About ECU Health Duplin Hospital

ECU Health Duplin Hospital is an 81-bed facility located in Kenansville, North Carolina. The 15-bed emergency department serves approximately 25,000 patients per year. In addition to providing general medical and surgical services, ECU Health Duplin Hospital offers chemotherapy and other cancer infusion interventions and has earned national designation as a Primary Stroke Center.

Position Summary

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) perform clinical laboratory tests by standard operating policies and procedures. As a MLT, you will understand method principles, perform quality control & calibrations, conduct preventive maintenance, and analyze results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits.

Minimum Requirements
  • Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or currently enrolled in an accredited Clinical Laboratory Science Program (BS) and have completed the specific laboratory rotation (e.g. Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, and Transfusion Services).
  • Equivalent laboratory training and/or work experience with the US military (2 years) will meet the education requirement.

Preferred:
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP or other nationally recognized certifying agency.

Other Information
  • This is a PRN, as needed position.
  • Rotating (days, evenings, nights, weekends).
