Summary:
Coordinates the workflow and day-to-day activities of urgent care office and employees in a fast-paced and complex clinical environment while maintaining collaborative working relationships. Provides and assists with basic patient care activities in an urgent care practice, under the supervision of a licensed provider. Supports the daily operations relative to patient care and managing the office functions (e.g. coordinating physician schedules, patient rescheduling, referral, and prior authorization support), interprets and executes provided instructions, and works reliably in an urgent care setting. Promotes positive employee morale and ensures all office operations are handled effectively, professionally, and in an expeditious manner. Keeps Practice Manager informed of any processes or concerns related to office operations. Ability to work schedule consistent with Urgent Care hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Formal Education Required:
a. High School Diploma or equivalent
b. Medical Diploma/License/Certification or Associate Degree preferred

2. Experience & Training Required:
a. Two (2) years of previous medical office experience (i.e., Medical Assistant, Medical Receptionist; Referral Coordinator); Physician office setting preferred.
b. Previous experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) preferred.

3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients, families, and clinical co-workers in crisis or trauma situations.
b. Ability to be highly motivated, work collaboratively, and work in a fast paced stressful and unpredictable environment
c. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
d. Required ability to handle bodily fluids and possible exposure to communicable disease.
e. Ability to travel between locations as needed.
f. Ability to process and complete assigned reporting requirements.
g. Previous experience and understanding of financial acumen.
h. Knowledge of clinical quality standards.
i. Exhibits effective leaderships skills.
j. Ability to complete tasks in an organized and timely fashion.
k. Ability to adapt to daily changes.
l. Computer proficiency.
m. Ability to work weekends and holidays.
n. May be requested to cover additional shifts or float to meet department operational staffing needs
o. Ability to adjust work hours to meet business demands as required
p. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.

4. Level of Physical Demands:
a. Medium: Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force continuously to move objects.
b. Ability to bend, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods up to 10 hours.

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
