Pay Range: $22.35 - $24.03 hourly ($46,500 - $50,000 annual equivalent, dependent on level of hire)

Reports To: Membership Growth Manager

Position Summary

The Membership Growth Coordinator plays an integral role in ensuring the organization's mission to grow and serve the sport. This role develops and facilitates programs, key growth strategies and tactics focused on USA Triathlon's 300,000+ membership constituent group with a focus on our 13-age group (amateur athletes) world teams called Age Group Team USA (1200-1400 members).

Essential Job Functions
  • Coordinate and organize qualification emails, team apparel and gear ordering, transportation and logistics, communication and engagement, and coordination of international and US-based event details for Age Group Team USA World Championship teams.
  • Organize Team USA qualification sign-ups and follow-up communications from National Championship events, rankings, and other qualification processes and priorities.
  • Work closely with World Triathlon contacts on Team USA rosters, wire transfers, insurance needs, registration requirements, event inquiries and National Federation mentoring program. Work closely with USA Triathlon partners on Team USA travel packages, apparel orders, and other soft goods.
  • Serve as main point of contact for Team USA athletes across various platforms. Assist with the coordination of membership drives and upgrades as needed.
  • Assist in the management of Team USA while on site at the world championships with USAT's Chief Sport Development Officer and before and after events to assure all needs are being met at varying levels.
  • Assist in building growth strategies focused on increasing USA Triathlon's reach, acquiring new customers, winning back former customers, and upgrading existing members within our constituent groups.
  • Assist in market analysis to identify new growth leads and opportunities for customer acquisition
  • Establish strong relationships across the organization, especially in service and programs, to ensure alignment and consensus around growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the service team to implement retention strategies and tactics.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software/digital functionality such as database management, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and social media.
  • Extremely personable with excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to speak and present in front of both small and large groups.
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple assignments at the same time, with high quality and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the sport of triathlon is helpful, but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment as part of a team atmosphere, including effective coordination with other business units.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business or sport management required; or a combination of education and experience that yields the necessary competencies.
  • 1-3 years of related experience including sales, marketing or other outbound growth required.
  • Prefer experience within the multisport or endurance industries.

  • Some travel required, including internationally.
  • Some overtime and weekend work required.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. While attending events, the employee may be required to travel around events facilities as needed, work outside for extended shifts of up to 12 hours, and lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
