OhioMHAS operates regional psychiatric hospitals in six locations across the state that operate 365/24/7. Our specialized facilities provide short-term, intensive treatment to patients in both inpatient and community-supported environments. We also deliver comprehensive care to patients committed through the criminal justice system.

What You'll Do:

Plans, organizes & facilitates a comprehensive program of active treatment services for assigned unit & program area: conducts discipline specific therapy sessions using defined therapy techniques & mediums (e.g., for applicable specialty); conducts individual & group therapy sessions (i.e., referral &/or assigned) for evaluation & skills/performance development in areas (e.g., psychosocial, physical, cognitive, behavioral, leisure); provides services on/off unit for civil/forensic patients; co-facilitates services with unit or other staff; directs patient participation; develops & maintains schedule of patient services; evaluates patient progress toward treatment objectives; adheres to safety standards to maintain therapeutic environment; meets requirements of Competency Improvement Plan; knowledge of NBH procedures for responding to workplace incidents & working knowledge of NBH safety & prevention programs, including infection control; knowledge of NBH safety procedures that minimize risk to patients & staff in a hospital or community environment; possess the ability to identify risks to safety & health & respond & report per NBH policies.

Functions as a Treatment Team facilitator & member to assure that the respective treatment team meets to review patients course of treatment, Treatment Plan goals & objectives, & treatment plan updates, accordingly; assembles the team members & facilitates the treatment planning meetings; assures that the Treatment Plans are consistently completed according to the hospital's, The Joint Commission's (TJC) & the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) standards &/or guidelines either electronically or by hand in producing a legible & measurable treatment plan; works with the staff in assuring patients' participation with the treatment planning process; as an active clinical participant to the team(s), provides the team members with pertinent findings & recommendations; works collaboratively with the team social worker in assuring that the community case manager & other relevant persons are appraised & involved with the treatment planning dates/times & activities; effectively communicates with all team members & product line staff.

Completes clinical documentation to ensure compliance with accrediting/certifying agencies, (e.g., TJC, CMS); completes peer review documentation according to QA/PI Plan; accurately completes assessments (e.g., initial & annual) as directed; enters assessment information into computer program & treatment plan; complete clinical documentation (e.g., progress notes) in PIRP note format; enters patient statistics; prepares written protocols & descriptions of therapy programs; completes & submits other documentation as required by supervisor.

Provides clinical lead/work supervision of discipline or specialty area for assigned student practicums & internships: monitors & evaluates programs & services in which students, interns, &/or volunteers are involved; organizes & facilitates in-service training & educational programs related to treatment & discipline (e.g., methods, techniques & theories of discipline specific therapy); ensures appropriate documentation of training services; assures compliance of training activities with various certifying/accrediting agencies (e.g., TJC, CMS, various professional organizations); attends meetings, conferences &/or seminars as required to maintain working knowledge & skill base in specialty area (i.e., Discipline Specific Therapy); participates in departmental meetings, assigned committee meetings, task forces &/or professional meetings representing specific discipline; attends & participates in scheduled supervisory meetings; obtains required number of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to maintain/renew credentials & clinical privileging; maintains compliance with mandatory hospital training; completes requirements of Professional Development Plan; maintains & submits required documents; performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications
Completion of undergraduate core program in mental health & developmental disabilities technology, social work or comparable field (e.g., child & family community services), special education, psychology or rehabilitation; 12 mos. exp. as lead worker providing work direction & training for other employees; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in state &/or federal regulations & standards governing care, custody & programming of consumers/residents in mental health or developmental centers.

-Or 24 mos. exp. in development & implementation of treatment/habilitation plans for individuals who are mentally ill ordevelopmentally disabled & working as part of inter-disciplinary team to assess individual's needs & abilities; 12 mos. exp. as lead worker providing work direction & training for other employees; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in state &/or federal regulations & standards governing care, custody & programming of consumers/residents in mental health or developmental centers.
