OhioMHAS operates regional psychiatric hospitals in six locations across the state that operate 365/24/7. Our specialized facilities provide short-term, intensive treatment to patients in both inpatient and community-supported environments. We also deliver comprehensive care to patients committed through the criminal justice system.

What You'll Do:

Plans, develops, coordinates, & provides program direction for the electronic health record (EHR) program & related software applications for the regional psychiatric hospital (RPH): collaborates with hospital leadership to set priorities & evaluate EHR system performance; provides technical support to clinicians for the use of the EHR system; functions as the hospital point of contact for Central Office & EHR software vendor; analyzes & evaluates EHR system; provides technical advice to aid RPH executive team in decision making (e.g., assesses system functionality, performance, change process & user satisfaction; identifies application errors, troubleshoots system errors); facilitates clinical content team (e.g., physicians, nurses, pharmacists & other health care professionals) to build consensus for the design, development of EHR system enhancements; assists RPH executive team in developing & implementing EHR strategies (e.g., designs, develops, recommends, implements, & enforces procedures & policies regarding EHR administration; establishes & maintains consistency of EHR system use across the RPH; monitors long term system integration); serves as liaison between administrator & system users & software vendors (e.g., responds to EHR system programmatic issues; identifies, drafts, & implements EHR system maintenance objectives & goals; transmits decisions & directives); represents administrator at meetings & conferences; assumes responsibility & authority for EHR related matters in administrator's absence; establishes & maintains effective working relationship with users; provides technical advice; resolves problems; coordinates activities with other hospitals & Central Office; attends leadership & other meetings (e.g., Avatar); conducts employee training & oversees EHR related help desk support; assists in EHR system events at the other RPHs.

Identifies procedures for health information maintenance; evaluates implementation of policies & procedures; ensures compliance with standards established by Joint Commission & other accreditation standards; collaborates with OIS, Hospital Services & EHR software vendor on the design, development, & testing of EHR system enhancements & reporting (e.g., Crystal & Cognos); collaborates with OIS & Hospital Services to communicate hospital priorities, system changes, service interruptions, & performance issues.

Conducts or assists with EHR related product or software selection, evaluation, or maintenance (e.g., system security, controls, maintenance protocol, backup procedures); assists in the determination of data access rights, & archive policies (e.g., identifies data to be archived; location & method of archive); identifies requirements & software necessary to maintain data administration standards; assists in the design & maintenance of the EHR system; performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
5 yrs. trg. or 5 yrs. exp. in business administration, management or public administration.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management or public administration; 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program for academic field of study commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on File; 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative, managerial &/or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.

-Or 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 2, 63123.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
