Job Summary

The National Account Manager will be responsible for the James Hardie exteriors and interiors online platform and the national footprint of distribution partners that drive our national retailer's business. The National Account Manager will lead in the development and execution of strategic plans to drive sales and profitability. They will be responsible for retaining volume and revenue, delivering share growth on exterior and interior products against competitors, and driving alignment between Lowe's and James Hardie. The National Account Manager reports to the Director, Retail.

What You'll Do:

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to drive business objectives that align with James Hardie and National Retail Partners' annual plan.
  • Forms cross-functional solid working relationships and manages communication frequencies with the National Retailers (i.e., Market Distribution partners at Corporate Headquarters and market level specifically with retail-focused sales teams) as well as James Hardie National Account Managers, Products Leaders, Finance Leaders, Supply Chain and Marketing to ensure we deliver business plan objectives including key financial metrics including volume, revenue, average selling price, etc.
  • Negotiates and structures agreements with distribution partners nationally to drive retail partners' business with infrastructure, service levels, products, training, and technology requirements.
  • Negotiates with distribution partners nationally to drive new incremental stocking positions, including new Innovative products and strategic products tied to the growth objectives of retail partners.
  • Develop strong working relationships and maintain communication frequencies with key retail contacts at corporate headquarters, specifically with the Online Merchants, Associate Merchants, Merchants, and Brand Advocates
  • Manage the implementation and solution development of our initiatives, address customer needs, and lead the involvement of all necessary internal partners.
  • Work with Lowe's Brand Advocate to identify and lead critical initiatives, including enhancing our online presence, opportunities in search and navigation, demand planning and customer fulfillment, and execution of omnichannel activations.
  • Understand customers' long-term business goals and identify suitable upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Drive online development planning, manage Lowe's (Vendor Gateway, IMA, VPP) systems to support new item setup, and provide critical analysis and analytic-based support.
  • Monitor and analyze performance against key initiatives.
  • Provide Directors with regular summaries of customer meetings, status on distribution, and a summary of POS performance compared to the Annual Business Plan.
  • Become a resource and advocate for Lowe's to grow our relationship and overall business by acting as the central conduit to link all the necessary departments and people internally and externally.
  • Lead the efficient and effective use of all advertising, promotional, and marketing program budgets by negotiating agreements that are in the company's best interests and planning detailed program and promotional plans with customer partners.
  • Prepares and delivers customer-specific sales presentations and product demonstrations and manages relationships with decision-makers.

What You'll Bring:

Education & Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline is required.
  • 5+ years in direct account responsibility as a National Account Manager or Key Account Manager preferred.
  • Lowe's experience is preferred.
  • 2-step distribution experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the building industry, preferred.
  • High level of strategic thinking and implementation
  • Project Management experience, leading high-visibility initiatives

  • Retail experience with premium brands and pro-centric brands is preferred.
  • Strong team player and experience working in a team environment.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel an average of 30-50%
