National Director of Flight Operations Quality Assurance Programs

$130,000 to $170,000 DOE

This position is annual bonus eligible.

The National Director of Flight Operations Quality Assurance Programs (FOQA) will oversee initial program design and implementation and subsequently manage the daily administration, security and operation of the Global Medical Response FOQA Programs. The National Director ensures aircraft data downloading, analysis, software/computer management, program meetings, and other projects as assigned by the GMR VP of Safety are completed as required. Directly interfaces with the gatekeepers and stakeholders on all areas related to FOQA. Promotes the Global Medical Response Safety Culture through interactions/ presentations with key stakeholders internally and externally through the FOQA program and industry safety conferences.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops, manages and maintains the GMR FOQA program for all air business units operating as part of the GMR organization.
  • Oversees data collection process of aircraft fleet in conjunction with Maintenance Planning.
  • Screens downloaded data for accuracy, integrity and validity.
  • Performs data analysis, root cause analysis and assists in identifying adverse events or trends in flight operations.
  • Coordinates the development, verification and validation of aircraft specific event definitions in collaboration with applicable stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Ensures the proper functioning of FOQA software, hardware and associated peripherals.
  • Maintains FOQA systems including coordinating with hardware and software vendors to troubleshoot and diagnose problems and installing system upgrades.
  • Develops and works with Gatekeeper network in identifying adverse trends in the FOQA data.
  • Chairs any FOQA program monthly meetings implemented through program development.
  • Works with company stakeholders in identifying adverse trends.
  • Prepares FOQA trending analysis and charts.
  • Contributes to internal newsletters, communicating significant trends to stakeholders.
  • Creates Safety Promotional (Quarterly FOQA Scorecard, FOQA Bulletins)
  • Presents FOQA information to various internal and external groups such as senior management, pilots, industry and governmental agencies.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g. emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years' experience, preferably in 14 CFR Part 135 air carrier operations; quality control, aviation/maintenance, operations, safety or a combination thereof.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Aviation Safety or Aviation discipline.
  • Previous work with FOQA program required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Computer programming and statistical analysis knowledge and experience
