Job Description:

Responsible for project managing multiple and various projects and programs within the Global ULH (Ultra Long Haul) Engineering organization including our Dark Fiber program, traditional ULH build programs, as well other ad-hoc efforts within the scope of our engineering organization. The Project Manager will work closely with their supervisor, our internal engineering partners, PM & operation teams as well the third party vendors engaged to do portions of the program. The PM will be responsible to drive projects and programs to achieve targeted and measured business goals and objectives. Responsible for managing a high volume of work.
Day to Day:

Coordinate and schedule resources across multiple organizations to align project requirements with business goals and objectives. Identify, monitor, report and escalate project-related issues to achieve timely resolution. Develop and implement corrective action plans to mitigate impact to project schedules and overall business objectives. Utilize project tracking tools and systems to accurately document milestones completions, project issues, corrective action plans, project jeopardies, and overall project completions. Maintain excellent communication with Functional Team Members and Direct Management to ensure early identification of issues a timely reporting of status.
What we are looking for....
  • Minimal 5 years of Project Management experience within the communications industry
  • Excellent knowledge of PC and software application including Windows and MS Office
  • Strong technical and project management knowledge
  • Experience managing vendors
  • Excellent verbal and written skills for inter-organizational communications to both internal & external partners
  • Strong organization skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion
  • Experience making independent decisions based on policies, practices and project requirements
  • Engineering, Planning, and/or Operations knowledge, especially with Long-Haul Telecommunications networks
Ideally, you'll also have:
  • Experience in managing telecom infrastructure projects
  • Experience with fiber splicing, fiber remediation & characterization
  • PMP certification, Military experience a plus
