Job Summary:

Remote hands for engineers, write standard operating procedures, setup lab equipment, perform tests, document test results, come up with tests, calculate tilts in GNP for 5GHz AP's, design 11, 18, and 70GHz links, determine how new equipment can be added to our tower cabinets, and work with equipment manufacturers to find answers to questions.

  • Analyze switching, digital, optical, wireless and associated telecommunications equipment.
  • Perform fault analysis, isolation and remediation in switching, digital, optical, wireless and other technologies.
  • Maintain accurate records in a variety of tracking resources.
  • Develop extensive knowledge of NextLink Broadband products and services. This will include carrier, fiber, and all commercial and residential products offered by NextLink Broadband.
  • Assist in developing and rollout network standardizations.


Skills:

  • Candidate should also be highly motivated, very organized, and can multi task


Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from one-year College or technical school; or three year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with routers and switches
  • Advanced SNMP Experience, Advanced Routing Experience, Advanced Wireless experience.
  • Advanced knowledge or experience in network design.
  • Basic electronic understanding
  • Nice to Have:
    • CCNA or Network+ (or equivalent are desirable, not required)
    • Confluence and Jira experience
    • Link Planner
    • Aviat design tool
    • Google Network Planner

Work Environment/Hazards:

  • Working conditions primarily inside an office environment
  • Sometimes working outdoors
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • High level of interaction with external/internal clients

Physical Demands:

  • Able to frequently move, transport, positions objects of 50 pounds or more
  • Stationary position for 8-10 hours a day
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment.
  • To perform this job successfully, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position. Daily movements include sitting, standing, operating computers and other office equipment and moving about the office. The employee must be able to communicate via email and verbally via telephone

Working Hours/Days:

  • Full-time
  • Ability to work off hours, weekends, or night shift as required to support a 24 x 7 network operations center (NOC)


Travel Requirements:

  • Able to travel 0-10% of the time
