Responsible for general supervision and coordination of the activities of nursing personnel on days, evening, nights, and on weekends and holidays, in order to ensure quality and continuity of patient care; accepts and supports the philosophy, purpose and objectives of Baptist Health and the Department of Nursing.
The Neuroscience acute care floor is a 33-bed unit, with a 4:1 patient/nurse ratio, with a primary focus on the care of acute Stroke patients and those with other Neurological diagnosis. Our facility is TJC accredited as a Primary Stroke Center. Staff are cross trained for the continuous Epilepsy Monitoring Program. Staff strive to maintain a positive work environment evidenced by their teamwork and organization of their Unit Practice Council. Our Neurologists are highly involved in the development of our nurses and conduct educational classes weekly on the unit. Our Neuroscience Nurse Mentor is available to assist with the transition of new staff members.Description

• Position requires successful passage of RN examination and a current AL nursing license. Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred. BLS. Additional specialty certificatio for assigned unit (PALS, ACLS, etc.).Ability to observe, assesses, and record work, safety and infection control standards. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
