Float Pool New to Practice RN Overview

Float to a variety of med surg units throughout four-time magnet certified MedStar Health Franklin Square Medical Center! This is an excellent opportunity to learn and gain experience taking care of a variety of patients, conditions and teams. You will be able to float to our 48-bed Med Surg/Post Surgical, 48-bed Neuro Med Surg Tele, 48-bed Renal Med Surg Tele, IMC/Med Surg Unit and 10-bed Oncology/Post Surgical Gender Reassignment Unit.

*Full Time Nights (three 12-hour shifts & every 3 rd weekend)

Nurse Residency Program Overview

Participate in the year-long New to Practice Nurse Residency Program based on the Vizient Model and accredited by ACNN

Attend a series of structured learning and practice experiences designed to assist with transition from new to practice to professional nurse and clinical leader at the bedside

Receive promotion to a Clinical Nurse II role upon successful completion the program, which results in pay and shift differential increases

  • Delivers proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex; identifies current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations; critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status and plans appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses

  • Prior work experience not required
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state or jurisdiction of the facility seeking employment upon hire required and
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation CPR certification required by completion of introductory period (within 30 Days of start) required
