About the Role: We are looking for an experienced New Product Development Engineer to join the Internal Ventures, Direct Air Capture team. In this role, you will draw upon engineering knowledge and skills to evaluate material and products for durability and fitness for use. This includes understanding use conditions, development and execution of durability testing, and analyses. In this role you will have the opportunity to develop test methods to qualify and validate processes used to support a first-generation product.
This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Responsibilities:
- Develop an understanding of in-field product use by interfacing with team technologists, product specialists and application engineers to acquire relevant testing conditions
- Develop test requirements and test methods to conduct Fitness for Use testing including translating in field conditions to in lab test conditions
- Develop correlations between lab scale testing and in-field use (product lifetime, performance, etc)
- Qualify and validate raw materials, manufacturing processes, intermediate materials, and final product
- Develop and implement sampling plans for intermediate materials and final product
- Embrace a high level of uncertainty, in an accelerated project pace
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or science field and a minimum of 3 years of professional industry experience
- Demonstrated ability in developing test methods, executing tests, analyzing data, and documenting results
- Demonstrated ability in creating and implementing sampling plans
- Demonstrated ability in qualifying raw materials, processes, or products
- Demonstrated ability in prioritizing, initiating, and driving projects to completion
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Desired Qualifications:
- 5 years of relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated ability in creating correlation factors with testing in the lab to in the field
- Previous experience in new product development
- Previous experience working with a start-up
