Chief Purpose of this position: Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE Non-Invasive Cardiologist to provide clinical care along with supporting the academic mission in research and education. The successful candidate will join an established group of physicians and surgeons in one of the top Heart Centers in the United States. We are dedicated to building a preeminent program for academic discovery and are committed to excellent clinical care for our patients.

Position Responsibilities:

Teaching | To support teaching directly via interactions with Medical Assistant trainees and undergraduate students from the College of William and Mary. In addition, will be expected to participate in University Continuing Medical Education programs for practicing physicians which is important to enhancing patient referrals.

Research | To support clinical research protocols as needed.

Service | Will be expected to participate in quality, safety and efficiency initiatives.

Clinical | Will primarily be dedicated to the imaging and outpatient and consultative services.

Other (for instance administrative duties, etc.) | Submit billing and document care as required by the organization. Abide by all medical staff requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • BC/BE cardiologist
  • Demonstrated skills in Cardiovascular Disease
  • Clinically oriented and possess sufficient research and teaching experience to be eligible for academic appointment
  • Able to communicate effectively and work with a large multidisciplinary program
  • Participate in teaching and Fellowship programs
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Virginia
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to
