Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Nuclear Cyber Security Specialist to work in our Material Minimum Security and International department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our REC facility onsite with every other Friday off.

The Nuclear Nonproliferation Division in Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) National & Homeland Security Directorate is aiming to add to its existing team of specialists focused on cyber security for nuclear facilities.

Nuclear Nonproliferation's nuclear cyber security specialists are expected to present cyber security-related training courses, develop content and hardware mock-up demonstrations for use in those courses, provide nuclear cyber-related policy guidance, conduct cyber assessments of nuclear power facilities, and provide strategic guidance for cyber security to partners in the nuclear arena. While performed by INL, this work is sponsored by the US Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration/Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation (DNN) organization and other US government agencies, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and private sector entities in the US and abroad.

Responsibilities Include:

  • We ask that you are a technical subject matter expertise in the fields of cyber security, nuclear safety, nuclear material accounting and control, physical protection of nuclear-related facilities, and training content development.
  • A person with exceptional writing skills for drafting training course content and policy guidance, and excellent verbal skills for conducting briefings and presenting to US and foreign students.
  • This position is based at INL's Research and Education Campus in Idaho Falls, ID, but it requires frequent domestic and foreign travel and work in a virtual team environment.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • PR0200: Bachelor's degree in education and 2 years of experience or advanced degree in education and 1 year of experience.
  • PR0300: Bachelor's degree in education and 5 years of experience or advanced degree in education and 3 years of experience or PhD and 2 years of experience.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

  • PR0200 - 200 ($83,412 - $137,592) Or PR0300 - 210 ($95,928 - $158,232)
