Location: 100 HEALTH PARK DR, Louisville, 80027

The role you'll contribute:

Provides diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures for both inpatients and outpatients through the administration of radiopharmaceuticals and the safe operation of various types of imaging counting and computer equipment. Maintains accurate records of radioactive materials from receipt through administration and disposal. Acts as a clinical resource to unit personnel and assures current standards of practice for the unit.

The value you'll bring to the team:
  • Performs duties directly involved in a variety of technical procedures in the application of radionuclides for the diagnosis, therapy and treatment of disease. Operates gamma camera / computer imaging systems, planar and SPECT and non-imaging equipment, producing quality diagnostic images and results for interpretation by a radiologist / nuclear medicine physician. Practices all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to "as low as reasonably achievable" (ALARA).
  • Processes radiopharmaceuticals from receipt and preparation through administration and disposal in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Prepares patient for exam. Provides information and instruction to patient and/or family regarding the procedure and responds to their physical and emotional needs.
  • Assists the patient during exam and positions the patient.


Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Registered Technologist, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine - R.T. (N)(ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association
  • Licensed Radiology Technologist in state om employment if working at a Kansas site
