HEALTHSOUTH is a leading provider of inpatient rehabilitation services. We are a fully accredited acute rehab hospital. We treat a wide clinical case load such as stroke, brain injury, neurological disorders, cardiac, orthopedic, amputation, multiple trauma, etc.

Our hospital has a full complement of Therapists, Nurses, Pharmacists and Medical staff to offer the best possible outcomes for our patients. With an average length of stay between 1-3 weeks, we get to see our patients progress, day after day until retuning home.

The Nurse Manager is responsible for coordinating administrative and clinical activities, both inter and intradepartmentally, so that optimum nursing care is provided, staffing is maintained, and costs contained. The Nurse Manager holds full responsibility for nursing in the absence of the Chief Nursing Officer.

The Nurse Manager participates in hospital committees, included but not limited to, EOC, Department Heads, Quality, Education, Diversity. The Nurse Manager reviews and analyzes nursing outcomes and develops plans of improvement. Also responsible and accountable for nursing department patient satisfaction and FIM initiatives.

This position will support cultural diversity by ensuring that the delivery of quality, equitable and culturally competent patient-centered care is provided; promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity; and ensuring that cultural diversity and sensitivity training is part of new employee orientation on an on-going basis to meet the needs of the patient population served in the hospital.

Typical schedule is Mon-Fri 8 am to 4 pm; however this is a 24/7 level of responsibility and flexing shifts as needed will be expected.

Qualifications

License or Certification:

- Current RN licensure appropriate to state regulations (unrestricted)

- BLS certification with ACLS certification to be obtained within in year of hire or entry to position

- CRRN certification to be obtained within a year of meeting the eligibility requirement to sit for the examination

Education, Training and Years of Experience:

- Bachelor's Degree or Masters Degree in Nursing preferred

- 5 years nursing experience with 2 years recently in an inpatient hospital experience

- Progressive nursing management experience including 24 hour accountability

- Served in leadership roles such as charge nurse or supervisor capacity where they had responsibility for reporting, issue resolution, setting direction and accountability for results
