Job Description

The Palliative Care Service is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner. Experience in either hospice or palliative care preferred, and ACHPN certification (or eligible in 1 year). The NP will provide direct and indirect patient care to palliative care outpatients and inpatient consolations in critical care and general med/surg units.

Minimum Qualifications
1. A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse; and
2. Current certificate as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the New York State Department of Education (NYSED); and
3. A current certification issued by the State Education Department to prescribe medication.

Department Preferences

Master's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus one to two years of hospice palliative care experience. Outpatient experience also preferred.

ACHPN certification (or eligible in 1 year)

Excellent communication skills

Demonstrate competence in pain and non-pain symptom management.
