ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
Data Strategy & Governance Implementation
• Take ownership of designing and managing the high-level architecture (HLA) of our data infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency in handling data assets.
• Define and manage the goals, objectives, and controls of our Data Governance Program, collaborating with internal stakeholders to establish program requirements and standards.
• Assist in implementing the organization's data strategy, developing data management frameworks, and identifying opportunities to optimize data utilization.
• Develop, review, and enforce data policies aligned with regulatory requirements, conduct regular audits to assess compliance, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Risk Management:
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with technology programs and projects, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards.
• Assist in the risk management of data across the organization.
• Proactively address issues and challenges that may impact project timelines or objectives.
May lead, mentor and train others
Performs related work as assigned
Maintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions
Attends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work schedule. Telework schedules are permitted for employees based on the agency's approved Telework Plan (if schedule does not adversely affect operations and service levels, and standard hours of operation are maintained).
Ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; experience in the following (or closely related) fields may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis: data architecture, data management, technical strategy, business analysis, project management, technical program management, or other IT leadership
Experience: Four years of full-time experience working in the following (or closely related) fields: data architecture, data management, technical strategy, business analysis, project management, technical program management, or other IT leadership
Extensive experience in data architecture, data management, and data governance
Experience working with data management in a Cloud environment and on-prem
Experience and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices related to data management, privacy, and security
Experience and a proven track record of driving data management initiatives and delivering results in a complex organizational environment
Experience writing strategic, business, and technical documentation related to data
Skill in effective oral and written communication with good presentation skills to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to executive management and external stakeholders. Skill in effectively preparing and executing program-related reporting to a myriad of audiences
Skill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision making, with the ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback provided by your peers, subordinates, and superiors
Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
Ability and proficiency in designing and managing data infrastructure, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes
Ability to think strategically, solve problems creatively, and adapt to changing priorities and requirements
Ability to learn the facets of agile-at-scale as it relates to the Office of the Attorney General and work with a myriad of agile actors to accomplish our strategic goals
Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback
Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional environment
Ability to work in person at an OAG work location for more than 40 hours, as required and in accordance with the FLSA, and, if necessary, to arrange personal transportation for business-related travel
Ability to lift and relocate 10 lbs.
Ability to travel up to 10%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certifications regarding data management, such as the CDMP
Certifications regarding agile project management
Experience working as an enterprise or solutions architect
