The Internal Audit Division of the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking a Management Analyst that performs audit related work. Work involves non-audit and audit activities related to conducting organizational studies and evaluations, conducting work simplification studies, and recommending potential enhancements to operations and procedures manuals to assist management in operating more efficiently and effectively.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
- Performs audit-related activities under close supervision of an audit project manager or chief audit executive such as: participating in the planning and execution of the agency's internal audit plan; assisting in researching, composing, designing or editing division reports and briefing documents or presentation materials; assisting in performance of simple-to-routine audits; assisting in statistical analysis of data as needed; organizing audit documentation and working papers; filing, photocopying, and transmitting information; scheduling audit meetings and phone conferences.
- Monitors and reviews current organizational, procedural, or operational systems as part of audit and non-audit services; conducts studies of employee or organizational efficiency and productivity and recommends changes or improvements in organization, staffing, work methods and procedures; prepares comprehensive technical records and reports to present and interpret data; works on special projects; collects and analyzes data through research in areas such as workload, administrative practices, staff utilization, organizational structure, or development
- Participates in training curriculum development and conducts formal training courses on new methods and procedures
- Performs related work as assigned
- Maintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions
- Attends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work schedule
- Ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information
- Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; experience in the following (or closely related) fields may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis: accounting, business administration, finance, economics, management, organizational development, accounts examiner, data/workflow analysis, regulation analysis, policy, and procedure (evaluation, implementation, or development),
- Experience: Two years full-time experience in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, management, organizational development, accounts examiner, data/workflow and regulation analysis, policy, and procedure (evaluation, implementation or development, or closely related experience
- Knowledge in accounting, financial, auditing work, information technology general and application controls, business process analysis, data/workflow and regulation analysis, or policy and procedure evaluation, implementation, or development
- Knowledge in organization development and management practices as applied to the analysis, evaluation, development, and implementation of programs, policies, and procedures
- Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
- Skill in effective oral and written communication
- Skill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision making
- Ability to compose clear and concise audit reports, to gather and analyze accurate and relevant audit information, to evaluate documents for accuracy and legal conformance, and to communicate effectively
- Ability to analyze problems and recommend and present alternative solutions
- Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback
- Ability to work with others in a collegial office environment
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Ability to work 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
- Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location, perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG workspace within OAG work location, and perform in-person work with coworkers (e.g., collaborating, training, mentoring) for the entirety of every work week (unless on approved leave)
- Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travel
- Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA
- Ability to lift and relocate 30 lbs.
- Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 25%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: Three years of full-time experience working in the following (or closely related) fields: auditing, accounting, finance
- Experience as a project team member
- Experience using audit management software (e.g., Teammate)
- Familiarity with the Office of the Attorney General
- Knowledge: accounting and auditing methods and systems; of generally accepted auditing standards and procedures; and of computer technology principles, terminology, programming, and automated systems
- Knowledge: auditing standards and ethics requirements; reviews applicable laws, regulations, and procedures to determine compliance
- Knowledge: Advanced proficiency in use of MS Access and Excel
- Abilities: gather and analyze accurate and relevant audit information and summarize results of tasks performed under the close supervision of an audit project manager or the chief audit executive
