Job Title - Community Education Assistant Site Manager

Supervisor: Community Education Director, Site Manager

Job Goals:
  • To assist with planning, organizing and supervising childcare programs at designated site.

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. At least 19 years of age.
  3. At least one (1) year of education, training and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: child development, teaching, counseling, social work, sociology, psychology, recreation, programming for youth.
  4. At least six months of work experience with school-age children.
  5. Ability to meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.
  6. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  7. Proficiency in oral and written communication skills.
  8. Interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on communication and collaboration with a wide variety of people and groups.
  9. Ability to lead, manage and support strategic and operation goals of the system in areas or responsibility.
  10. Ability to develop programming specific to the needs of students.
  11. Ability to solve problems as a productive team member.
  12. Ability to use technology to communicate, to manage data, and to produce/submit required reports, correspondence, and/or financial information.
  13. Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities.
  14. Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance.
  15. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
  1. Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals and priorities.
  2. Assists in coordinating the program and personnel for the assigned site.
  3. Assists the site manager in disseminating communications regarding after school and
    1. community education programs with parents, community agencies and organizations, PTA/PTO, school staff, and administrators.
  4. Assists with the orientation of new program personnel.
  5. Assists with any required safety training and program training for new site personnel.
  6. Assists in keeping the program facility clean and orderly.
  7. Assists as assigned with collecting fees, issuing receipts, and maintaining financial records according to school system accounting procedures.
  8. Assists the site manager in maintaining accurate inventories of program equipment, supplies, and materials.
  9. Maintains appropriate confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters according to state and federal law.
  10. Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for improvement in areas of responsibility.
  11. Responds to inquiries and requests in a timely and positive manner.
  12. Maintains and submits required reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner.
  13. Properly cares for equipment and material resources of the school system.
  14. Uses effective collaboration skills to work as an effective team member.
  15. Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local regulations.
  16. Reports absences and takes leave in accordance with Board policies and procedures.
  17. Performs any other job-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor(s).

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
