Job Title - Community Education Primary Child Care Giver

Supervisor: Community Education Program Coordinator, Community Education Site Manager

Job Goals:
  • To implement childcare programs at designated site.

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum of 19 years of age.
  3. Ability to meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.
  4. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  5. Proficiency in oral and written communication skills.
  6. Use technology to communicate, to manage data, and to produce/submit required reports, correspondence, and/or financial information.
  7. Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities.
  8. Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance.
  9. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
  1. Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals and priorities.
  2. Implements childcare activities as directed.
  3. Supervises assigned students to accomplish program goals.
  4. Disseminates communications regarding the after school and community education programs with parents, community agencies and organizations, PTA/PTO, school staff, and administrators as directed.
  5. Assists with the upkeep and cleanliness of the program facility.
  6. Leads program activities.
  7. Maintains confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters in accordance with state and federal law.
  8. Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for improvement in areas of responsibility.
  9. Responds to inquiries and requests, constructive feedback, concerns and/or complaints in a timely and positive manner.
  10. Jefferson County School System Community Education Primary Child Care Giver
  11. Maintains and submits required reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner.
  12. Properly cares for equipment and material resources of the school system.
  13. Uses collaboration skills to work as a team member.
  14. Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local laws.
  15. Reports absences and takes leave in accordance with Board policies and procedures.
  16. Performs any other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).

Terms of Employment: As established by the Board and applicable state law.

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of

personnel.
