GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Officer, Organizational Safety & Security is responsible for ensuring the safety, security and protection of Ross associates and assets within and around New York Buying office. This position will be responsible for the professional execution of security and safety post orders related to daily assignments including the protection of life and property through the implementation of the building's fire safety plan to include acting as Building Evacuation Supervisor and/or a member of the Fire Brigade. This position will also be responsible for the monitoring of site systems to include CCTV, access control and the proper utilization/operation of the Fire Command Station. He or she will also participate in on-going company initiatives as assigned and interact/communicate with associates at all levels of the organization.

The base pay range for this role is $18.94 - $27.38. The base pay range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Maintaining Safe Environments

• Maintain a visible security presence to deter, prevent or mitigate any condition that effects safety and security

• Monitor and review corporate technologies on a regular basis to include CCTV, access control, Fire Panel and information systems as directed

• Perform patrols and inspect all areas for any condition that threatens the safety and security of NYBO associates, staff, visitors or assets

• Provide clear direction, information, and/or aid as required to associates and visitors

Maintaining Secure Environments

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security/safety of the NYBO

• Demonstrates knowledge of all security posts including the operations office

• Perform audits, assessments, and inspections as directed to ensure that the Organizational Safety and Security programs are being adhered to and standards are maintained

• Composes and prepares written reports that are clear, complete and accurate as required

• Enforce Organizational Safety and Security programs, policies and regulations and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance

• Maintain professional presence and ensure a safe and secure environment at all times

Mitigating Safety and Security Risk Through Preparedness and Response

• Be knowledgeable about all security and safety related procedures and policies

• Attend and participate in drills and training as directed and maintain applicable certifications and licenses

• Maintain all equipment in serviceable, functional and operable condition

• Constantly monitor and evaluate safety and security conditions in and around the NYBO

• Maintain a constant state of readiness, preparation and attentiveness

• In the event of an emergency, respond and implement immediate corrective action to restore safety and security as per Organizational Safety and Security protocol and policy

Developing Great Teams & Partnerships

• Provide NYBO associates and visitors with service and information in a professional manner

• Ensure a supervisor is notified of any condition that may impact safety and security in and around the NYBO

• Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of information pertaining to the NYBO, associates, vendors and visitors

• Develop and maintain relationships with local first responders to help ensure prompt response when incidents occur at the NYBO

• Develop and maintain effective internal partnerships throughout the organization

• Provides a prompt and courteous response to requests for support from Floor Fire Safety Teams, including Fire Wardens, Deputy Fire Wardens, Searchers, Fire Brigade and all other Fire Life Safety team members

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• College credits or prior military experience preferred

• 1-2 years of Organizational Safety and Security experience preferred

• Must be able to read all operating procedures and instructions and give clear instruction during emergency incidents.

• Proficient computer usage.

• AED-CPR certification a plus

• FDNY- FS-EAP-F-89 certification a plus.

• NYS Security Guard license required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

This role requires full-time in-office presence, including attending in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback.

Must be able to work all shifts including holidays, overnights and weekends

Must be able to raise or lower objects weighing up to 25 lbs., from one level to another (includes upward pulling)

Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, or crouch (frequency and duration will vary per daily business need)

Must be able to operate a motor vehicle (up to 3 hours per day) as business and travel needs dictate

Must be able to climb stairs, ramps or ladders occasionally during shift if needed

Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours per day)

3rd party Security Officers as directed
