Methodist Transplant Institute, in partnership with The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), College of Medicine, Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery is accepting applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor experienced in multi-organ abdominal transplant surgery. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track position and faculty rank is commensurate with experience and credentials. Tenure-track may be offered at the Associate or Professor rank.

Preferred candidates will have experience with living donor transplantation and hepatico-biliary and pancreatic surgery, including robotic surgery. Cross training in kidney transplantation, laparoscopic kidney donors and experience with pediatric transplants is required.

As a leader in the field of organ transplantation for more than 40 years, we are pleased to offer Liver, Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation, Living Organ Transplantation, Hepatobiliary, and Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Transplantation, and Transplant Research.

Qualifications

  • M.D., or equivalent degree
  • American Board-of Surgery certified/eligible or foreign equivalent.
  • Committed to providing quality clinical care, student/resident teaching and research.
  • ASTS Abdominal Transplant Surgery fellowship training and/or certification is required.
  • Qualification for unrestricted medical license issued by the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners.
