Serve as OR Resource Nurse for Transplants, General, Plastics
Serve as a member of the surgical team by planning the perioperative care for surgical patients
Participate in identification and resolution of nursing practice and unit problems

This position provides support for the OR staff and OR management team in a specific surgical specialty. Serves as a resource for protocols, education needs, materials management, and physician support. Functions with competence in all aspects of the Operating Room RN role, both as a scrub and circulating nurse. This position requires providing service to all age populations, neonatal through frail elderly, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional and developmental age of the individual served.

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing highly preferred
Current Pennsylvania RN license, active and in good standing is required. Currenly accepting Multi State License
BLS certification through the AHA or ARC required
2 years of operating room experience required
Able to manage certain daily patient care activities in the perioperative setting required
Proficient in scrubbing and circulating strongly perferred
Computer literacy required.
Successful completion of a skills based test required

Conditions of Employment

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
