Summary:
The role's purpose is to develop and maintain a comprehensive process to proactively identify and reduce operational risk. Account Reconciliation governance is one of the key global functions under the Operations Balance Sheet Controls. It involves reviewing accounts to assess the controls and data analytics. This role is an Assistant Vice President (AVP) level role and will be responsible for procuring account information from Account owners and perform data governance, risk review and analytics over the control information as per established guidelines. This requires co-ordination across numerous internal operations teams, as well as various other support and control groups. As a member of the controls team, the incumbent will primarily be responsible for procuring account data for the Businesses/regions/countries under their responsibility, perform risk review and data analytics and reporting
Responsibilities:
  • Procure account information from the account owners regionally/ across business areas and perform data management.
  • Work closely with Operations Account owners to ensure control actions as identified in the control reviews are documented.
  • Performs data collection and analysis in support of risk management project activities.
  • Analyze large data sets and identify trends for proactive risk management.
  • Ensure data integrity controls exist per established data governance standard.
  • Highlight data and control issues as part of the Operational risk review.
  • Collaborate with various business units globally to develop controls and strategies which address risk.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert and perform business analysis development of related control frameworks.
  • Acts as a point of contact for issue escalation and regulatory exams and audits.
  • Ensure effective and timely engagement and communication with global risk and control teams.
  • Create reports for senior management for status update.
  • Perform User acceptance testing and liaise with technology for automation initiatives.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding the business, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Required Skills:

  • Exposure to Finance/ Accounting.
  • Knowledge of metrics and reporting.
  • Willingness to ask questions, challenge the process and seek out answers.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical, flexible, team-oriented with good interpersonal/communication skills.

  • 4-5+ years related experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to facilitate discussions.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various analyses or reviews.
