Overview

The Operations Lead provides general support to Operations Department staff through labor and crew supervision. Performs a variety of set up, conversion, custodial, maintenance, engineering and project work. Directs, supervises and inspects event conversions. Assists in the scheduling, hiring, and training of part time conversion staff.

This role will pay a salary of $22.15.

Responsibilities
  • Perform duties for set up and removal of basketball court
  • Set up and remove stage, risers, seating, tables, flooring, etc. for various events
  • Repair and performs maintenance of retractable and permanent seats
  • Participate in and lead safety precautions and venue procedures.
  • Proactively use all safety mandates and teach others to do to the same
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools along with other venue related equipment to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Support the needs of the event such as requests from other departments and the event promotors, as needed
  • Embrace a culture of diversity and inclusion where guests and team members feel welcomed, valued, and heard
  • Complete conversions of the building layout from one event to another based on the given specifications for each event
  • Operate with an emphasis on safety for employees, teams, and guests
  • Assisting other departments as assigned
  • Operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, boom lifts, scrubbing machines or other light power-driven equipment.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma + 1-3 years of conversion experience, preferred
  • Excellent safety record and work ethic
  • Ability to work long hours and varied schedules (majority overnight conversions)
  • Must be self-motivated and work under little supervision
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in the most productive and/or appropriate manner
  • Demonstrate knowledge in operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility
  • Possess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state or national authorities for the operation of the equipment found in the facility
  • Experience operating power equipment including forklifts, light trucks, pallet jacks, boom lifts, scubbing machines and other light power-driven equipment
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with other in both oral and written form
  • Strong organization skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results
  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, patrons and others
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur


Working Conditions & Hazards
  • Pinch points and tight working spaces throughout building
  • Exposed to high noise levels
  • Performing the duties of this position involves extensive and continuous standing and walking. Routine activities require the employee to be able to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include the ability to adjust focus, peripheral vision and close vision.
