Job Description

Job Purpose

The Operations Lead supports all aspects regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Team (SQDCT) of the assigned work cell. They resolve technicians immediate concerns and ensure efficient parts flow through the cell, while maintaining productivity as a technician.

Job Responsibilities

In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to conform to the following values: Safety, Fact Based, Accountable, Respectful, Persistence and Ethical.

  • Put Safety first at all times, never compromise on safety for the obtainment of other objectives. Responsible for health and safety of themselves and coworkers.
  • Ensures operational SIRM goals are met, if not met, develop a plan to make up back log / miss.
  • Working Operational Lead (90%) with some time delegated to administrative duties (10%).
  • Track daily / weekly production, give updates and make adjustments in cell accordingly
  • Ensure the flow of subcomponents through the cell “ bottle necks”
  • Provide work direction to workers assigned to the work cell, coordinate vacation and lunch/break coverage, obtain overtime coverage as approved, time approvals.
  • Coordinate and provide training of Technicians.
  • Housekeeping and organization (5S) of the work cell
  • Ensure raw materials & general supplies needed are present at each work station and surplus materials are properly stored.
  • Ensure proper completion of production and traceability documentation is present at all work stations
  • Set-up and operate key equipment in work cell.
  • SAP transactions including but not limited to; Migo, Co11N, MMBE, MD04
  • Lead/Support meetings as needed; Start-up Meeting (Tier 1)
  • Support/Train technicians as needed
  • Call in support teams when needed


Supervisory responsibility : Yes

Supervisors are responsible for overseeing their work group including but not limited to: formal evaluations/performance management as set out by the organization, recruitment and developing group cohesion.

Experience/Education/Skills

Qualifications/Characteristics

  • Strong Communication skills
  • Working knowledge of SAP+
  • Strong working knowledge of processes in the area
  • Knowledge of where to access resolution to problems requiring support groups


Working Conditions

Indoor production environment, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts. Ability to work schedule modifications and be available as business situations required, overtime dependent on business need.
