Basic Qualifications

Associates degree in related discipline or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Working with Engineering, Operations Support and individuals in other departments, the Advanced Engineering Technician will support engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. This may entail performing the following:
  • Interprets basic engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics
  • Constructs, modifies, debugs, troubleshoots, calibrates, tests and adjusts a variety of tools, equipment and systems
  • Conducts, analyzes and documents statistically based experiments to define process parameters
  • Implements and documents complex solutions for process improvement
  • Designs and constructs basic tooling and fixtures to accomplish unique tasks
  • Organizes, analyzes and interprets data to identify cause/effect relationships and recommends resolution/process improvement

What you bring to the table:
  • An Associates degree in related discipline or equivalent plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Solid knowledge and proficiency in the use of fabrication tools
  • Ability to fabricate complex hardware
  • Experience with CRM Databases: Track, update and maintain all hardware and cabinet configurations in the CRM database for all Lab and Site equipment. Including updating Service Requests for labs and field installs, removed and installed
  • Ability to install failed hardware in labs thats returned from field for troubleshooting and analysis
  • Experience with Code Collaborator Reviews: Interconnects, drawings, and parts lists prior to being released
  • Ability to evaluate and provide inputs to engineering on hardware installs for new equipment, I.E. Mounting, cabling, placement, used to create new drawings.

  • Ability to construct cabinets and assemblies based on engineering provided drawings
  • Support all new hardware requests for new equipment to be installed in labs. Out of box into cabinets (Potentially no or redline drawings)
  • Ability to implement all MCOs in labs once released by CM
  • Willingness to support all request for test set ups, by different engineering groups
  • Willingness to support Depot activities, testing, materials, CRM, UIDs, hardware questions, failures, part modifications
  • Organize, store, and disposition old equipment and hardware replaced in labs and returned from the field
  • Ability to work with Depot to process Scrap materials no longer needed by the program
  • Ability to maintain UID compliance as required by our customer
  • Ability to provide inputs for future work (Proposals), based on previous install experiences

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $29.62 - USD $31.77 /Hr.
