Position Summary

The Operations Specialist position within Asset Management provides support to campus in the re-utilization and/or disposal of surplus assets throughout UGA. This position would meet with clients to provide expert knowledge of surplus and Asset Management procedures and be a liaison between UGA and Georgia DOAS.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Have good communication skills, written and oral. Familiarity with UGA's Athens campus (location of buildings, roads, etc.). This position involves independent decision making.

Physical Demands

Walk campus, climb stairs, and lift and move moderately heavy items. Involves work outside, in a warehouse and office settings. Driving to perform job related duties.

Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

Meet with surplus clients to effectively and efficiently prepare assets for the appropriate reutilization/disposal method. Provide a knowledgeable and high level of service to customers (internal and external) for all types of surplus transactions . Ensure the efficient and proper reutilization and/or disposal method of UGA assets based on UGA, state & federal policies. Receive, reconcile, and organize surplus property at the UGA Surplus Warehouse. Assist the Surplus Property Manager in surplus related projects at UGA.

Provide physical inventory support to units. Update various asset information in UGA Financials Asset Management as needed. Assist with on-site inventory scanning. Promote and support transactions on the Surplus Marketplace.
