Flint Hills Resources (FHR) is hiring an Operations Technician who will be responsible for supporting the pipeline and Fort Worth fuels terminal located in Euless, Texas. You will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance needs of the terminal and pipeline. Other responsibilities may also include measurements, regulatory equipment inspections, and other duties required for daily pipeline and terminal operations. A successful candidate will have computer skills, good verbal and written communication skills, and sharp mechanical and electrical skills. You will also be required to work a rotating modified Dupont 12-hour shift schedule which rotates from days to nights and has a built-in off set of 7 consecutive days off every 5 weeks.

We are a dedicated team of highly skilled operators that are proud of the work we do at the Fort Worth fuels terminal, Flint Hills Resource's largest terminal! Our terminal is one of the main suppliers of jet fuel for the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport and loads over 500 tanker trucks a day. With 12 fuel storage tanks at our facility and countless miles of pipeline under our care, we operate with the highest level of safety and environmental performance in mind. What You Will Do
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operations and maintenance of pipeline and station assets
  • Responsible for the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation, electrical and mechanical equipment located at the bulk storage facility and truck loading rack
  • Coordinate with pipeline schedulers for the successful delivery and receipt of petroleum products
  • Other daily responsibilities may include: pipeline locates, excavation oversight, facility station checks, equipment repair, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and responding to customer needs
  • Familiarity and understanding of all federal, state, and company regulations including DOT PHMSA regulations.
  • Proper documentation of all operational activities using computer/tablet inputs including word processing, spreadsheets, work orders and electronic communications.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Valid US driver's license
  • Willing and able to perform physical requirements as listed on this job description
  • Willing and able to work rotating shift work as described on this job description
  • Experience working with computers and MS Office software

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience with industrial equipment maintenance that may include (motors, valves, actuators, meters, transmitters, pumps and valves)
  • Experience in a role with Mechanical/Electrical troubleshooting
  • Two (2) year technical degree in Mechanical or Electrical/Instrumentation disciplines
  • Experience with pipeline or fuel terminal maintenance
  • Two (2) years or more of work experience with industrial equipment maintenance that may include (motors, valves, actuators, meters, transmitters, pumps and valves)
  • One (1) year or more of experience in a role with Mechanical/Electrical troubleshooting

Physical Requirements
  • Physically able to frequently stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, reach, handle, bend, twist, climb and balance.
  • Physical able to occasionally sit, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Willing and able to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (for example: hard hat, safety glasses, fire retardant clothing, respirator, safety work boots, etc. as required)
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds (with frequent carrying of up to 25 pounds)
  • Able to respond to audio alarms, or other loud noises that would indicate a safety concern.
  • Must be able to communicate hazardous conditions and other dangers.
  • Must be able to work near moving mechanical parts, work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and outdoor weather conditions, work in high, precarious places and work around fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
