Position Title (Classification Title): OPS Adaptive Physical Education Specialist Working Title: Adaptive Physical Education Specialist Job Summary: Movement Academy is a physical education program providing physical activity to children and adolescents from 6-17 years old. The mission is to provide quality physical education opportunities to all of our students by offering a unique variety of physical experiences.
The Adapted Physical Education Teacher will:
Ensure the safety and well-being of participants by being aware of participant locations at all times, sharing and enforcing appropriate safety regulations and procedures, and applying appropriate behavior management techniques.
Deliver physical education learning content including cooperation activities, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sport, and games.
Work alone and with others to lead and supervise activities.
Provide a safe and fun experience for all participants.
Establish a positive relationship with other staff, parents, and participants.
Provide positive leadership and be a role model.
Be available to work on Tuesday and Thursdays during the semester from 8:30am-11:00am. Department Conferences & Continuing Educ FLSA: Non-Exempt Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization Position Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in education, special education, physical education. Preferred Qualifications Graduate degree in education, special education, or physical education.
Experience working with youth and adolescents between the ages of 5-17. Special Requirements or Considerations of the Job:
This position requires fingerprinting.
This position requires a criminal background screen.
