QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Associate degree in Child Development or higher OR at least nine credit hours of college coursework in the field of Early Childhood Education or Child Development from a regionally accredited institution.

JOB GOAL:
Assists with Office of School Readiness Pre-Kindergarten program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment
2. Works with pre-k students in their classroom to reinforce skills and concepts introduced by the teacher
3. Monitors pre-k students' progress
4. Attends weekly planning sessions with classroom teachers
5. Assists in completing activities, documents progress and notes comments
6. Turns in weekly plan sheets to administrators
7. Assists the teacher in creating activities and implementing special instructional strategies
8. Assists with independent study, drill, remedial and makeup work
9. Provides assistance in administering diagnostic and assessment tests
10. Maintains required pre-k documentation
11. Attends scheduled workshops and training
12. Keyboarding
13. Performs other related duties as assigned

Duty Days: 187

Salary Range: According to Madison County Schools Salary Schedule. Actual salary will be determined by rank and experience. Current employees with questions regarding step placement on the salary schedule should contact the Personnel Department.
